About Fort Web Design, Hosting & Maintenance Company

Fort Web Design is a development and hosting company created by John BoZ Bozwell. After 28 years as a radio personality in markets such as Nashville TN, Cleveland OH, Erie PA, Tampa Bay FL, Scranton/Wilkes Barre PA and others, John or BoZ as he is called found himself in Kansas. A good guess is he tapped his heels together once too often. He was taken to a place, the hall of the mountain king... no wait that's a song. Anyway he found himself in Paola Kansas. Yes it's pronounced Payola and his friends in radio never will let him live it down. Just Google Payola. Anyway he decided a change of pace was in order from his first love, the radio industry which was even then automating, implementing segments of satellite delivered programming.

So capitalizing on a strong love for computers developed from music scheduling programs in the 1980s, BoZ decided to try his skills in marketing computer networking. His first projects before the Internet were dial-up computer bulletin boards. Before the world wide web computers networked either by tapping into ARPANET (an early packet switching network which became the Internet) or by modem to call other Bulletin Board Systems and exchange email called Netmail or Usenet type messages called Echomail on FidoNet. This was usually done in the middle of the night, so while you could communicate globally, depending on your bulletin board you might need to wait a day or so for a reply!

Soon the Internet was all the rage among techies and seeing the vast potential of the digital age, BoZ was instrumental in building some of the first Internet Service Provider Networks (ISP) in the late 1990s and early 2000s in the Kansas City Area. Realizing they could run their businesses anywhere, BoZ and his wife Kathy sold the 6000 square foot building plus their turn of the century Victorian home in Paola and made the move to historic Fort Scott in the Little Ozarks of South East Kansas. Fort Scott offers a small town atmosphere with low crime and the very most value for the buck in real estate. A very attractive community for entrepreneurs who want low operating costs and none of the hustle bustle of city life.

John and his wife Kathy who likes to be called Towanda after the Kathy Bates character in the movie Fried Green Tomatoes now operate several online businesses serving customers nationwide including KEB Banners and More, that started in Paola as KEB Banners and Screenprinting in the late 1980s. The website www.kebway.com was one of the first Championship and Award Felt and Tackle Twill banner businesses on the web in 1996. KEB Banners and more now serves thousands of businesses, churches and athletic programs nationwide from elementary to the Ivy League. For more just Google "felt banners" (without the quotes.)

BoZ views website design and development from an artistic, marketing and positioning perspective. The website must captivate, be pleasing to the eye and offer content that creates immediate interest and solicits an inquiry for your businesses products or services.
